No Plea Deal For Dalishia Salter/Sentence Her To The Maximum Of 20 Years

No Plea Deal For Dalishia Salter/Sentence Her To The Maximum Of 20 Years
The Issue
We come to you on behalf of minor child (Daviere Bryant) and the community of Justice For Daviere Bryant to ask that no plea deal be offered and/or allowed to defendant (Dalishia Salter) and if found guilty by a court of law that Ms. Salter be sentenced to the maximum time allowed by law (20 years) for her crimes. At just 11 months of age on September 13, 2014 Daviere Bryant was violently beaten and assaulted allegedly by his own mother, Dalishia Salter. Daviere suffered; a skull fracture, punctured kidney, fractured ribs (new and old), deep mouth laceration consistent with an object being shoved in with great force, a large knot on his head, 2 black eyes, and other minor injuries according to hospital reports. Dalishia Salter sent text messages to the child's biological father, David Bryant, on the night in question admitting to beating their child. She stated in those text messages that she had beaten Daviere, was putting him outside, and that he was probably dying. David Bryant video taped himself finding Daviere out on the porch, in a car seat, and badly beaten just as Dalishia had claimed. That video went viral on social media and many became concerned and joined the fight for justice. Daviere Bryant has an official community support page that has over 30,800 supporters from not only all over the country but around the world. Daviere's supporters will not sit by quietly and watch his alleged abuser walk free or get a simple slap on the wrist. On September 13, 2014 Ms. Salter lied to police claiming David Bryant was the one who caused the injuries to their child. Hospital records, text messages, and the video prove that is not the case. David Bryant was exonerated in any wrong doing in the abuse of Daviere on December 18, 2014. Therefore that leaves only one person who could be responsible for beating Daviere that night and that person is Dalishia Salter. September 13, 2014 is not the first or only time Daviere suffered horrific abuse while in the care of Dalishia Salter. Hospital records show that when Daviere was seen that night doctor's found signs of prior abuse (fractured ribs that were approximately 2 weeks old). Daviere has a right to have his alleged abuser stand trial in a court of law with a fair and impartial trial. By offering and/or allowing a plea deal true justice will not be allowed to prevail. If Dalishia Salter is allowed to walk away with just probation or a minimal jail sentence Daviere and his siblings would be once again in great danger. All too often in abuse cases such as this one the abuser gets off and the child ends up dead at the hands of their abuser. Daviere has no one to stand up for him and be his voice other than you. Please do not fail Daviere as many already have. Show Dalishia Salter that you can not violently beat a child nearly to death and get away with it. Show Daviere that he matters, that his safety matters, and most importantly that his life matters by letting a jury or judge decide her guilt or innocent. If found guilty sentence her to the maximum sentence allowed by law, anything less would not be justice and would victimize Daviere once again. Thank you for your time and consideration to this urgent matter.
Sincerely,
