Since the beginning of this academic year, numerous school districts have implemented the use of YONDR pouches. If we do not take proactive measures, such as formally addressing our concerns with the district, this issue is likely to persist. It is important to remember that our perspectives are equally valid and should be considered alongside those of the district.

This is important because, with the rise in school shootings, many schools may not be fully prepared for emergencies. Using these pouches could create an added risk for students. If it becomes known that we don’t have access to our phones, schools could be seen as easier targets.
