No NSLC in Eskasoni First Nation OR change NSLC to Cannabis only

No NSLC in Eskasoni First Nation OR change NSLC to Cannabis only
The Issue
When people try to justify bringing the NSLC to Eskasoni the first argument is "It will bring money in to the community", Yes it will but at the cost of our people?
Another justification is "They'll get their liquor anyway", Maybe they will! But it is taking away the inconvenience factor when those dealing with addiction problems can just take a 45 minute walk to get to the NSLC either way. As opposed to going to a bootlegger, or getting a ride/runner to corner store.
Not to mention the amount of people that will be most likely selling to those who are underage or going for runs for those who are underage. Our community is plagued by intergenerational substance abuse due to intergenerational trauma and the fact that this wasn't thought about makes me pretty upset.
There are better ways to bring money into the rez.
For example, a cultural shop that buys anyone's beadwork/art similar to how Petroglyphs in MB2 is ran.
Another example is an eye doctor, orthodontist, physiotherapist, and other NEEDED spaces in Eskasoni, not a space that is getting rid of all the work and progress we have done as a community to battle intergenerational trauma and intergenerational substance abuse.
A community plagued by alcoholism, substance abuse and intergenerational trauma should not have easy access to a Nova Scotia Liquor Commission. M'sit No'kmaq
Edit cont.
People might think I'm troubleowit but really the idea of both the liquor store and Eskasoni gaming right next to the grocery store, the main source of food and cashing cheques in Eskasoni makes me sick.
We all have loved ones who suffer from addictions or are recovering from addictions, would you want them to have to stare at the LC or gaming everytime they want to go get milk or eggs?
If I was addicted, I'm not sure my cheques would go towards food and familial needs if my willpower was being tested every single time I went to get groceries or go tim hortons.
Say no to a liquor store in Eskasoni. No NSLC or cannabis only.
It's never too late to make changes if the health of the community is at stake.
