STRICTER ANIMAL RIGHTS LAWS

STRICTER ANIMAL RIGHTS LAWS
The Issue
1) Make back yard breeding illegal:
- Only certified breeders with papers and proper facilities should be allowed to breed pure bred dogs with check ins from police to ensure animals are safe, healthy, and loved. We have more than enough mixed breed dogs all over the country who would love a good home. We don’t need to add to the problem.
2) Mandatory spay and neuter laws for cats and dogs
- We do not need more dogs or cats brought into this world when you can turn down a random street in your city and find a stray dog or dog tied up in its yard. There are dogs put down every day because shelters are over ran.
3) We need stricter and more easily enforced animal welfare laws.
- People should not be able to leave their dogs outside and/or chained up 24/7 as long as they have shelter, food and water. Most people keeping their dogs like that do not give them proper nutrition, shots, or love that dogs deserve. They are social beings and they deserve better. I’ve seen first hand what law enforcement deems acceptable and it’s sickening. Far too many times I’ve called law enforcement and/or animal control for them to do nothing because it’s not against the law or because it’s “good enough” when it’s not.
4) Animals can only be kept outside tethered while supervised!!!!!!
- No animal should be kept outside on a chain it’s whole life or most of its life. This leads dogs to being more aggressive because they’re not loved on or socialized which causes them to act out. Anyone keeping their dogs outside most/if not all their lives are typically neglecting their dogs in more ways than one.
5) We need harsher punishments for those abusing and neglecting animals.
- the maximum jail sentence is 5 years for the cruelest of abuse cases. That’s not good enough and offenders hardly ever get that sentence. Small fines aren’t good enough. We need people who abuse and neglect animals to get a minimum of a year in jail with stiff fines otherwise people will keep doing it because a slap on the wrist is nothing. A lot of times being abusing animals are doing other illegal activities so fine the animal abusers and find other criminals. It’s a win win for society. Get those evil individuals off the street and out of the community.
I've seen far too many gut wrenching pictures and videos. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
Together we can make a difference! Together we can demand change.
They deserve better. Let’s give them better.
