No more math work for the rest of the academic year

No more math work for the rest of the academic year
The Issue
Dear Academic Authorities,
As students, we understand the importance of education and the role that mathematics plays in it. However, we are also aware of the overwhelming stress and anxiety that comes with math work. Therefore, we urge you to consider our plea to eliminate all math work for the rest of the academic year.
According to a study conducted by Stanford University, excessive homework can lead to negative effects on mental health, including stress and sleep deprivation. This is especially true for subjects such as mathematics which require extensive practice and repetition.
Furthermore, a survey conducted by The National Center for Education Statistics found that 58% of high school students reported doing at least one hour of homework per night. This workload can be detrimental to their overall well-being and academic performance.
We believe that eliminating math work for the rest of the academic year will not only reduce stress levels but also allow students to focus on other subjects where they may need more attention. Additionally, it will provide them with much-needed time for extracurricular activities or personal hobbies which can contribute positively to their mental health.
We understand that this decision may not be an easy one but we hope you take into consideration our concerns as students who strive towards achieving academic excellence while maintaining good mental health.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
The Students
