No More Gas Stations in Unincorporated Norcross!

No More Gas Stations in Unincorporated Norcross!
Why this petition matters
The Overlay 85 district of Norcross, Georgia, has been inundated by gas stations/convenience stores. Concentrated within a small 14-square miles, at last count there were 34 gas station/convenience stores, with many more active rezoning/zoning applications currently before the Gwinnett Planning Commission and Board of Commissioners. This proliferation of gas stations concentrated in the district contributes to many issues, noise pollution, light pollution, traffic, loitering, idling vehicles, the potential for criminal behavior and, of course, the emitting of toxic fuel vapors from vent pipes into our environment. Also, the costly cleanup of a closed gas station can take years while a property remains blighted. We have the power to take back our quality of life and are asking for a moratorium to be placed on any new applications zoning/rezoning for gas stations in our community! Enough is enough! If you live in the 85 Overlay District of unincorporated Norcross and feel strongly that your health and well-being is at stake, please sign our petition.
