Important development in our fight to save open space at Queen’s Park and other green spaces across the city, when a Birmingham City Council scrutiny committee voted UNANIMOUSLY to call in the Cabinet decision to sell off the sites. An important victory in our campaign to save green spaces across our city.
This now means that the decision has to go back to cabinet for review.
For information, a call-in of a cabinet decision refers to a formal process where a decision made by Birmingham City Council cabinet (in this case, the cabinet property committee) is challenged or reviewed before it is implemented. This mechanism is typically used in systems of local or national government that follow democratic procedures and checks and balances.
