No Bail for Child Murderers - Justice for Kingston

No Bail for Child Murderers - Justice for Kingston
The Issue
My name is Camren Meadows, and I’m the mother of Kingston O’Bryan Childress — a beautiful, growing, two-month-old baby who was taken from me far too soon.
On June 15, 2024, Kingston died at the hands of his father due to Shaken Baby Syndrome. The autopsy confirmed it. The evidence was overwhelming. And still — the man responsible was allowed to walk free on just $1,500 bail.
This is a gut-wrenching failure of our justice.
We are demanding:
1. No bail for individuals charged with the death of a child.
2. Protective restrictions against contact with other children during open cases.
3. Judicial accountability for granting bail in violent child death cases.
We ask you to stand with us and demand justice not only for Kingston — but for every baby, child, and family the system continues to fail.
On June 15, 2024, Kingston O’Bryan Childress — a happy, healthy, two-month-old baby boy — was shaken to death while in the care of his father. Despite the autopsy confirming spinal cord damage, internal bleeding, retinal trauma, and other injuries consistent with Shaken Baby Syndrome, the man responsible was not held without bond.
In June 2025, he was finally indicted — a full year after Kingston’s death. At his arraignment, he pleaded not guilty and was granted bail. Only $15,000 — of which just $1,500 was required to walk free.
And now he has access to other children.
This case is not an outlier. Across the country, parents and guardians are watching the people responsible for their children’s deaths walk free while awaiting trial — often for months or years. In some cases, trials don’t even begin for two to three years. Meanwhile, these individuals remain in the community, around vulnerable children, often repeating the same patterns of violence.
We are calling on lawmakers, judges, prosecutors, and citizens to take action:
- End bail for those accused of murdering children.
- Increase penalties for violent crimes against infants.
- Protect surviving families and future victims by limiting contact with minors.
- Investigate court systems that repeatedly release violent offenders.
Kingston’s life mattered. And his death must mean something.
Sign this petition if you believe:
A child’s life is worth more than $1,500.
The system should protect children, not enable their abusers.
Families deserve justice — not silence.
Let’s make sure Kingston’s name is never forgotten. Let’s make sure no other mother has to bury her child while the person responsible walks free.

Justice must start somewhere — let it start with him.
