As of right now, starting on March 15th, 2021, all grades 6-8 will be required to spend advisory time completing Language Arts IXLs. As many of you know, IXL is a website similar to MATHia that requires you to get a certain number of questions correct in a row to complete. IXL is dreaded by many if not all students here at the middle school. We already have IXL during other classes such as math and science. Why should we have to do Language Arts IXL? Not to mention, we complete every other IXL subject in that class. We shouldn’t be forced to use our study hall/Leader in Me time doing Language Arts IXLs. We have enough stress already. This class was made for a break in the day. The advisory class period is supposed to be our time to do our homework. Sign this petition if you don’t want to have the equivalent of two Language Arts classes during the day. Maybe we can change it.
