HELP STOP THE CLOSURE OF DD JOHNSTON ELEMENTARY.  DD Johnston is the school you went to when you were young, the school your children and/or grandchildren now go to, don't allow them to end this tradition for you.  DD Johnston is a family oriented school with a great principal, teachers and staff who care about their students and welcome everyone.

DD Johnston was recommended to me by a good friend and DD Johnston has lived up to it's recommendation. DD Johnston is not the closest school to my family and I but our daughters don't mind getting up a few minutes earlier to attend this school. Both of our daughters have made really good friends there at DD Johnston whom they keep in touch with. Our oldest daughter no longer attends DD Johnston but every moment she gets, she stops by to say "hello" to her past teachers, because she cares for them as much as they care about her. I believe this is the same reason why you bring your children and/or grandchildren to this school because they care - they are LIKE FAMILY. 

Closing DD Johnston Elementary would not only get rid of your tradition of having your children go to the same school you went but it would also mean getting rid of our City's history.  DD Johnston school was named after Darius David Johnston. The Johnston family is known to be one of the first families to settle here in Norwalk and Darius David Johnston started the first school system here in Norwalk back in 1880. If we get rid of history, what's next?
