The novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) has brought all of our lives to a halt, Seniors in high school could be missing the most memorable parts of their Senior year, graduation, spring sports, prom, and the last time they might see a lot of their classmates before they all go their separate ways. As of right now, there's absolutely nothing to look forward to, but signing this petition could help change that.
The 2020 Spring season is most likely going to be cut short if schools close for the remainder of the year. This is the last year of Men's Volleyball that most Seniors will be able to play, and for all the last year they will represent their town, their school, and be able to play with the teammates they've grown up with. Football programs are able to practice in the summer months, weeks before anyone begins to even think about school, so why shouldn't Men's Volleyball be able to do the same? Signing this petition gives these senior's hope for something better, we are going to rise above this, but we need to be able to return to normalcy once things start to clear up.
To those reading this that aren't in high school, or don't play a Spring sport, please understand that it's more than just Men's Volleyball. It's a sense of normality. Step into their shoes, the sport they love, the sport that they all spent all offseason preparing for, can be stripped away from them in just a single moment. My goal as a parent is to get this petition out there with as many signatures as possible before that decision is made.
