My name is Laurie Parks. My daughter Jennifer was murdered on July 31,2005. She was 16 years old. She was murdered by 2 brothers,Johnathan and James Zarate. At the time of the crime,James was 14 years old. He was waived up to adult status and tried as an adult. He was found guilty of first degree murder and convicted of life is prison as an adult. The Supreme Court passed a law that juveniles sentenced to life have a right to be resentenced and be released or have their sentence reduced.I am asking that the life sentence for James Zarate remain as is and not be reduced.
