Nix the Risk of Cervical Cancer by 2040

The Issue

Every person is affected by the threat of cervical cancer, a life-threatening yet entirely preventable disease.

Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer worldwide. In 2018 alone, an estimated 570,000 women were diagnosed with cervical cancer and about 311,000 women died from the disease (World Health Organization). Despite these alarming statistics and the fact that it can be prevented through regular screenings and HPV vaccination programs, we still lack sufficient commitment and resources to combat this deadly disease effectively.

At Equal Hope, we are actively contributing to the fight against cervical cancer by offering navigation to free PAP and HPV screenings plus any follow-up support. While this is a critical step, we acknowledge the need to do more.

We need your commitment to do your part to #NixTheRisk of cervical cancer! This involves increasing awareness about the importance of regular PAP and HPV screenings among women/nonbinary/transmen of all ages; ensuring adequate resources are allocated for public health initiatives related to cervical cancer prevention; advocating for policy support that makes screenings and HPV vaccinations accessible and affordable for all; and pushing for research on more effective prevention methods.

We have a chance not only to save lives but also to eradicate a type of cancer within our lifetime. At Equal Hope, we make a difference in the fight against cervical cancer and working together we can #NixTheRisk for everyone. Sign this pledge today, share widely, and be a catalyst for change!
