Import on vehicles is very high in India. Upto 100%. On ICEV( internal Combustion Engine Vehicle) it is fine. We need to encourage EV. As of now supply chain of EV parts doesn't exist much in India, so manufacturing is not here. Efforts are being made, but we also need encouragement of people towards EV. Allowing foreign manufacturers here would definitely give EV a push in India. We request govt of India to remove or atleast reduce import duty on all EV for few years till companies like Tesla, BYD, Kia, Hyundai figure out manufacturing and supply chain in India. Also taxing EV so much doesn't make sense. Every EV is helpful.
