NISD campuses each have a minimum of 2 fully equipped police officers. These officers frequently can be seen before and after school directing traffic, organizing events, and at school dances/other functions. The students of NISD feel that with the current state of affairs in the US and Texas that we do not feel protected and served by the police. We feel that the organization is corrupt and does not have the best interest for people of color, and the evidence is staggering. Police brutality is not exclusive to adults such as George Floyd, but children in school as well. Linked are several articles on police brutality
