The establishment has been lying to us for years. Yoshi is actually a frog, not a dinosaur, as Nintendo has previously stated. Yoshi is a frog for the following reasons:

• He is green and colorful, like many tropical frogs.
• He has spikes on his back, similar to Corythomantis greeningi.
• His tongue can stretch out to grab prey, a feature seen in many different frog species.
• He has the tail of a tadpole.
• Male and female Yoshis can both lay eggs. This change in gender is commonly associated with frogs, as they are known to be absent switch from female to male and from male to female (just like in Jurassic Park).
• His fingers have bulbous tips that are very similar to those of a frog.
• Yoshi's best quality is that he can jump very high, just like a frog could.
