The Issue

  • Nintendo has finally closed their eShop last year. It may not sound like a big deal, but in addition to exclusive content being unavailable soon, so are now the classics from the Virtual Console.

That means classics such as, “Super Mario Bros.”, The Legend of Zelda, and “Castlevania” areunavailable for purchase. Even worse, Nintendo has made it clear they have no plans to preserve their older library of games at all. According to them, "many classic games for past platforms will cease to be available for purchase anywhere." and that "we currently have no plans to offer classic content in other ways."

This is a huge mistake on their part. Even if those past games weren’t advanced or up-to-date now, they were fun, and many of us grew up with them. They need to be preserved, yet Nintendo sees no need to. They don’t even see the need to transfer their exclusive 3DS games over to the Switch. Something needs to be said and done about this.

That is where you come in. Sign this petition and share it with as many of your friends as possible. Let Nintendo know how we clearly feel about this.
