Playing Pokémon is great and when a Pokémon is caught you want to keep it for as long as you’re playing Pokémon. Many hours are put into leveling up the Pokémon, it would be a shame to lose these hours when buying a new game.

A device could be built to allow the transfer of Pokémon. Nintendo could sell it to individuals, a device that could do this is surely worth ~$20.  Nintendo could also sell the device to a company (GameStop) and they could charge a fee to transfer Pokémon from one game to another. Cell phone companies have a similar device to transfer phone numbers and it works well for them. At the very least allow owners/players to ship two games (older and newer) to Nintendo, Nintendo could transfer the Pokémon at their location for a fee.

This would influence old Pokémon players to buy the newer games and get back into Pokémon.
