Back in late 2019, the company Alphadream went bankrupt. They we're the company that made the Mario & Luigi RPG series. Ever since then, theirs been no news of the series's future, besides a trademark Nintendo signed in January of 2020. Sega, a long time ago made a Sonic the Hedgehog RPG. Although it was not a great RPG, and having a crossover with the 2 franchises would not only give Sonic another chance at RPGs, but it'll get a great way for Mario & Luigi to return on the Nintendo Switch.

Now, the relationship between Nintendo and Sega is great, theirs Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Which just so happens to be Alphadreams last game they worked on.) So another crossover would be more than possible.

I will say, the chances of this actually happening is slim, but at the very least if Nintendo sees it it'll show them how much we want another Mario & Luigi game.
