The Nintendo Switch is going to be a great console when it comes to both portability, and multiplayer. Super Smash Bros. Melee is quite possibly the perfect game for such a system- it's quick, lightweight, action packed, and a whole lot of fun, and let's face it, nobody wants to spend $70 on a used copy of the game and lug around a GameCube, controllers, and a television everywhere they go just to enjoy the experience do they?

The community for Super Smash Bros. Melee has grown exponentially over the past few years, and with the recent announcement of the Nintendo Switch, a console that may bridge the gap between portability and console quality gaming, there is likely no better way to give the people exactly what they want-

A high-definition version of Super Smash Bros. Melee. Simply the original game but with higher quality textures (this does not mean replacing the classic Melee models with the newer models from Super Smash Bros. Brawl or Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U), 16:9 aspect ratio, compatibility with the new Joy-Con controllers for easy gameplay on the go, and finally compatibility with the Wii U GameCube controller adapter in order be able to play it in the traditional way.

Nothing more, nothing less. Simply graphical enhancements, and compatibility with newer control methods. Super Smash Bros. Melee is truly an unprecedented Smash Bros. experience and a wonderfully unique game. It is famous for it's quick, technical gameplay made possible by "exploits", and altering or patching any aspect of the core game would not be wanted under any circumstance and overall defeat the purpose of bringing it to the Nintendo Switch.

This could lower the entry barrier for Super Smash Bros. Melee by a tremendous amount, due to not having to go out and source a copy of the game which would generally go for $70 USD, buy a GameCube, and more, which in turn would greatly promote the Melee scene, both competitively and casually.
