Mario Party Superstars is supposed to be a celebration of all previous Mario Party titles and a return to form for the series. It seems to be missing one of the few customizable features available in those previous games, though, and that is 50 turns! Sure, many casual players will never use this option, but I know there are some of us that plan a whole evening-night to playing 50 rounds of our favorite game. I know many will say an alternative would be to break it into multiple sessions, but with all the progress gathered in 30 turns, it’s understandably not the same. Furthermore, with the new save feature, it’s probable people will want to play longer parties and return to them in the future with their friends. It cannot be hard to patch in, as all events on the maps are randomized and in patterns, so we are asking for this feature to be added back to this game.

It’s no hidden secret that Nintendo has been gathering negative morale from its fanbase. From all of the seemingly anti-consumer choices they have been making, wouldn’t it be nice to see a small gesture driven by the community acknowledged by them? I’m calling on all Switch owners, Nintendo fans, and even lapsed fans of the company and its series to sign this petition to show that we are here and want better from Nintendo. We wouldn’t feel this way if we didn’t love them and the games they create.

Although this may go nowhere, I am hoping some fans see the point and bigger picture of this petition. Mario Party was once one of Nintendo’s biggest IPs along with Smash Bros, which receives constant additional content and updates. 50 Turns is the classic max standard for this series, and all we are asking is for it to be added back. Let this game be a true return to form. Mario Party Superstars is one of the biggest releases on the Nintendo Switch in some time, and its success is important since so many of the console’s fanbase has passively given up on the system.

Please give back to the fans and allow us to enjoy Mario Party as we have for years - with 50 turns!
