Another great Australian scripted drama has fallen to the industry as confirmed by Nicole da Silva on her instagram story (4/12/2020) with season 5 scheduled to be the last for 'Doctor Doctor' (The Heart Guy) 

This show has been so well loved in Australia & around the world. The show gets back to what Australia do so well, medical dramas & country locations. The show connects with so many with such relatable characters & beautiful writing.

This show is the last of it's kind & connects families across the country & even the world. After everything that has happened this year, Australia NEEDS Doctor Doctor more than ever.

Doctor Doctor has held it's own & constantly performed for Channel 9 as one of the last remaining scripted dramas on FTA TV. Doctor Doctor started in 2016 & since then has held down a prime time TV slot while other scripted dramas on the Nine Network such as Hyde & Seek, Bite Club & Bad Mothers all were cancelled after one season. The debut episode of Doctor Doctor, despite competing with the award winning & massive success of 'The Offspring' rated only 2 spots below before jumping up 4 spots the following week. The ratings for Doctor Doctor remained solid across the shows first 3 seasons but season 4 did see a drop in Australia but that was in large part because it got sold overseas first & delayed till the following year. I have no doubt you'll see the ratings jump again this season & remain steady.
