NIL-Equity Index, Transparency for students surviving on the margin of whiteness education
The Issue
One Million Signatures Needed to Send a Message!
The NIL has changed my life and the lives of high school and university student-athletes, parents, coaches, university athletic departments, administration, press, and corporate finance. With new NIL rules and information, it is essential to create an equitable distribution system for students who come to education on the margin of “whiteness.” The importance of transparency and what I have defined as “360 communication” will start by educating all students and end with students knowing what they need to do concerning the NIL program. I believe that companies like Oxford House Publishing are the reviewers of best practices and are challenging the system by publishing yearly rankings of equity in the overall NIL program and process and recommending disciplinary action for institutions found violating the NIL code of conduct. Independent audit, independent reporting, and alternative investigative forms of communication will assist in the process of saving students from being bogged down with becoming accountants and financially competent in high school. Having served in corporate life and university athletics in the past. Marginalized people are being abused and punished by power. Female athletes and LGBTQ student-athletes are not being compensated equitably, are not offered the same opportunities, and suffer long-term effects from years of cognitive dissonance and self-esteem damage because they don’t have allies. Pete Van is a minority and on staff at Oxford House.
Please help send the President and elected officials a message to demand equity in all parts of the NIL program.
One million signatures from people impacted either directly or indirectly by the equity in NIL on the university, college, and high school campuses are asked to get one million signatures.
With a show of solidarity, social media, mobile tech developers, corporate IT departments, financial departments, agents, legal experts, politicians, professional athletes, celebrities, and university and athletic programs, both large and small, will assist in creating the new NIL equity education digital platform, designed to educate both academically and financially disadvantaged student-athletes with equity.
