Every year, the day after Thanksgiving was marked by a special event that brought joy and excitement to my household - the Halo Awards on Nickelodeon. This unique awards show celebrated young people who were making a difference in their communities, inspiring countless others to do the same. However, since 2017, this tradition has been absent from our screens.

The Halo Awards not only entertained but also educated and motivated young viewers. According to a study by Cone Communications in 2017, 89% of Americans believed children should be taught about giving back to society at an early age (Cone Communications CSR Study). The Halo Awards served as an excellent platform for this purpose.

By discontinuing the show, Nickelodeon has taken away an important tool for promoting social responsibility among youth. We understand that programming decisions are complex and multifaceted; however, we believe that bringing back the Halo Awards would be a valuable step towards encouraging community service and civic engagement among younger generations.
