For years Memphis,Tennessee has been trying to get a professional football team. There were many times the city was close, but at the last minute Memphis lost out to other cities like Jacksonville, Charlotte and Indianapolis.

Memphis would be a great home to the next great NFL franchise. This city has been rated one of the best underrated sports cities in America and the region is filled with passionate fans. Just ask the Memphis Grizzlies or the Memphis Tigers about the intense fan base. Listen to sports talk radio and you'll know what I'm talking about. The Bluff City would be a perfect home for a team like Jacksonville or maybe even San Diego since both franchises may be on the move. Memphis could also be home to the next NFL expansion franchise. With more than 1.5 million people in the metro area Memphis has a big enough fan base to support a team. Memphians came out to support the Memphis Showboats with the USFL in the 80s and the World Football League's Memphis Southmen/Grizzlies in the 70s.

You might be thinking where would they play? A  good spot for the team could be at the Liberty Bowl Stadium initially. That's where the Memphis Tigers college football team currently calls home. A new stadium in downtown Memphis would be best. It could be near AutoZone park, FedEx Forum and the Bass Pro Pyramid all within walking distance.

It has been too long. Memphis has been passed over too many times. Now is the time Memphis should get an NFL team. Take action and get Memphis on the NFL map.
