Niantic, Stop discriminating against the disabled!

Pokémon Go is one of the most popular games on iOS and Android. People of all ages love the game, whether to just collect and finish their Pokédex, battle and take over gyms, raid, or meet new people.

Unfortunately, several requests to include the disabled have gone unanswered. Suggestions for gyms to be added to a disabled persons location, joystick accounts approved by Niantic, etc. have completely been ignored.

While some who are disabled can play as intended (example: those in wheelchairs who are generally healthy but are unable to walk), many of us can’t even get out of bed. Many are in hospitals full time or hooked up to machines for chemo or oxygen. Why should we not be able to play? This isn’t a sport, this is a GAME on our PHONES.

Disabled players are routinely left out of everyday activities, missing family events and fun with their friends. Being sick can be very lonely at times so many sick and/or disabled resort to watching tv/videos/Netflix & playing games on their devices all day. We also tend to spend more $ because we play more since we have so much free time. But that doesn’t matter to Niantic, we aren’t able to walk so we should go away? That’s just not right!

Id be happy with a gym at my house or with a Niantic provided joystick account to walk around, I’m not asking to jump all over the world or to be able to snipe Pokémon. I’m just asking to be treated like everyone else! To be able to join in on one of the most popular games ever, to play what my stepson and nephew are playing so that one day we can trade and battle each other! I don’t think I’m asking for a lot. I just want the playing field to be equal...and I need a joystick or gym for that to happen.

I’d LOVE to be able to walk around and “grind” as legit players say, it’s a DREAM of mine to wake up and go about my day without having to worry about my health issues. But unfortunately, that’s not how my life is.

Thousands (if not more) of disabled people feel the exact same way as I do. We are tired of being lumped in with people who “ruin” the game with 5+ accounts taking over every gym and jumping all over the world. We just want the ability to play like everyone else. Please, Niantic, let us play, too!
