Our NFHS Class of 2020 has already been forced to miss out on many of the most important milestones for graduating seniors, like prom, class days, and goodbyes to friends and teachers.  

Governor Cuomo recently announced that schools will be allowed to host outdoor graduation ceremonies of up to 150 people, and many school districts have come up with creative ways of allowing students to have this final graduation experience.  These ideas have ranged from multiple smaller ceremonies, to televised events and replays of speeches, to student only ceremonies.  With all that our students have sacrificed as a result of this health crisis, we owe it to them to make this celebration as normal as possible!

We need your support to convince the Niagara Falls School District to make every effort to host this in person graduation ceremony.  This is a once in a lifetime experience, and one that can be made possible with creative ideas.  We propose that the district and administration host a series of smaller ceremonies allowing students who wish to participate the opportunity to walk across the stage, have their moment of pride, and to have that memory to cherish.  Families can watch the ceremonies from an appropriate distance or even from home as a broadcast event.  Niagara Falls has the facilities and the talent to easily make this a reality.  

The students, families, and teachers are willing to be creative to give our students this memory! We just need the district to show the same commitment to our students as their final show of support to the graduating class!
