Nhs scans to be earlier than 12 weeks

The Issue

This petition is not to save baby’s because that isn’t always possible but it’s to know sooner if you have had a loss, because like me twice I haven’t known I’ve misscarriaged because I’ve had no signs.

I have had two losses now a mmc at 7 weeks in dec and a one twin loss at 9 weeks with no pains that would alarm you, no bleeding but I’ve had to pay out of my own money for a private scan for piece of mind. Which isn’t cheap either it should be reduced privately or more help should be out there from the nhs.

If a scan was offered by the nhs before 12 weeks this fear would help not just for people who have had three losses even if you’ve had one the mental emotion you go through not knowing if everything is ok. 12 weeks is a long time to wait which is why we’ve always had an early scan but even from 8-11 weeks a lot can happen and it’s better to find out earlier rather than later. I understand it may cost the NHS a lot but I’ve always worked and payed my taxes/NI. I know miscarriages are unknown why they happen I just don’t feel there is enough support out there.

After our first loss there was no support after our D and C but I feel there should be especially when you’ve never been through it before and like this time I’ve never been through a twin loss so I need all the support I can get.
