Allow NHS patients to have Cyber Knife treatment in the UK and on the NHS, for treatment of benign brain tumours.

The Issue

I have an Acoustic Neuroma, it is a benign brain tumour that is slow growing, but if left it will eventually cause brain damage and death, at present it is growing at the rate of 3mm a year and is only 7mm away from impacting on my brain stem. Once my tumour grows to more than 2.4cm radiotherapy will no longer be an option and I will need brain surgery to remove it, the operation alone will quadruple the cost of cyber knife treatment, not to mention the after care costs. My present symptoms are fairly minor, however they have stopped me from working for over 12 months.

I am not the only person in this situation, although acoustic neuromas are classed as rare, there are many more in my position. I just want the best treatment for me and others in a similar positionon, to be made available on the NHS
