George Strait plays Super Bowl 51 Halftime Show

George Strait plays Super Bowl 51 Halftime Show
The Issue
For the past several years, the Super Bowl Halftime Show has incorporated a wide variety of musical genres from pop to rock to R&B. We feel like one audience group has not been adequately represented - Country Music lovers. To best represent the most popular genre of music in the country, we feel like the "King" of Country Music should have a chance to perform in his home state of Texas during next year's Super Bowl. George Strait has had more number 1 hits than any other artist in any other genre. His music stretches over decades of success starting with his first #1 in 1982 Fool Hearted Memory, and continuing today with Cold Beer Conversation which reached the top 10. George has had over 60 #1 hits and his music has reached fans of all ages, races, and nationalities. George has been shining role model for youth since reaching stardom. He has been married to the same woman since 1971, served in the military, and created the charity the Jenifer Lynn Strait Foundation (named after his daughter who passed away in an automobile accident), which donates money to children's charities in the San Antonio area. Artists from Taylor Swift to Jamie Foxx have openly credited George Strait as a musical influence.
In closing, we feel that only good could come from a George Strait Halftime performance. After all - football, country music, and George Strait are America.
