Dear News18 Team,

I have been regularly following the TamilNadu Media.  I would like to bring to your attention and share some of the details I have gathered which relate to your TV channel TamilNadu media unit.

I would like to know if you are aware of the fact that your Tamil media unit is running the anti-BJP and anti-Hinduism campaign for the past 4 years. If you are already aware of this fact, then, I would like to know the reason why this was allowed to happen.

I want to share the information gathered by me, with you, so that you will be able to fully understand the gravity of this situation.

Your Tamil media unit is being operated by the supporters of either Dravidar Kazhagam (hereinafter called as DK) and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (hereinafter called as DMK). 

DK is a movement that is actively pursuing anti-Hindu agenda in TamilNadu, in the name of rationalism and atheism, hurting the sentiments of people following Hinduism.  This is well known fact in TamilNadu.

Following are the details of some of the staff who work in your Tamil media unit:

Guna a.k.a. Gunasegaran:

He is the son-in-law of Kali Poongundran, who is actively involved with the Dravidar Kazhagam  (DK) movement.

Jeeva Sagapthan:

Jeeva Sagapthan is the son of one of the Marxist Communist Party leader of the Madurai district, an ex-district secretary, who is the backbone of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi. His wife (Shamim Jeeva) is an ardent supporter of DK. She is known for her fierce and extreme Hindu hatred. Jivasakapatan and his wife are very much involved in the DK which is an anti-Hindu movement.

Senthil:

Senthil, if judged from his social media tweets and records, can easily be identified as a radical opposer of Hinduism, India and PM Narendra Modi. Even recently he had tweeted on the decision of the Government in banning 59 mobile apps of China, in a very insulting manner.

John Paul & Karunakaran:

John Paul and Karunakaran Senior Sub-Editor, both are active senior members of DK.

Prakash Pandian:

Prakash Pandian Correspondent is also a radical Hindu hater and a supporter of Periyar.

Approximately 70% of the News18 TamilNadu media unit are filled with supporters of DK and DMK party. They openly support the communist and leftist movements along with the DMK.

Haseef M :

Chief news reporter, who is a radical thinker and he strongly opposes PM Narendra Modi.

How can one media channel have so many senior reporters and news editors who are all aligned with the same anti-Hindu, anti-BJP and anti-Modi agenda?

This grouping of such same mind set persons DOES NOT seem to be random appointments in your TN media unit. These people HAVE BEEN HIRED to be “journalists”, but they are aligned with the DK and the DMK ideologies. They are very cunningly using your media, in the name of Journalism to broadcast news that favour the ideologies they align with.

It is 100% true that from time to time they will publish news that are seemingly anti-DMK.  I strongly feel, realise and am confident that their agenda is creating strong anti-central government and anti-Modi wave in TN.  The speakers in the news programs are spreading extreme hatred on our PM Narendra Modi.

I am citing one incident happened in Chennai.  In April 2018, politician and actor SV Sekhar’s home was stoned by many including journalists.  Of the 30 journalists identified, 14 were from News18 Tamil media (names furnished below), Sun TV, Dinakaran and Kalaignar TV. These reporters along with their supporters also went on the offensive. This is well known to everyone.

I also bring to your notice that many of the newsmakers around the state are DK sympathisers and as a result they are also anti-Hindu. I have further more information and I am ready to give the same to you, if you need more evidence.

These newsmakers in the state of TamilNadu are not only anti-Hindu, anti-Central Government, anti-Modi BUT ALSO they are strong supporters of DMK. Anyone who opposes DMK become the target of these people.  For example, from the time Mr Rajnikanth announced his political entry, News18 Tamil channel has been placing opposition campaigns in the name of news and debates whenever possible. So it is not just about opposing Modi, India or Hinduism but also oppose and suppress those who speak or is against DMK.

The mother of DMK party is DK and DK is actively working for DMK to come to power in TamilNadu. Present newsmakers are all supporters of DK.  So this DK / DMK propaganda is well planned and being deliberately telecast / published in the News18 Tamil media unit.

 

What is my concern?

Media always plays a very important role in the society and needs to have complete freedom to question and bring out the truth and present the same before the society. Media has to present actual news and information. They should not CREATE news and give MISINFORMATION.  MEDIA SHOULD NOT ACT AS AN AGENT OF SOME MOVEMENTS OR PARTIES AND CANNOT INDULGE IN INCULCATING IDEAS OF SOME PARTIES’ IDEOLOGIES TO THE PUBLIC. 

I bring to your attention that the role of the media in the welfare of the country is very essential. But by calling yourself as the “news media” and “journalists”, it is impossible to accept the fact that employing such people who are not working as journalists for News18 Tamil, but working for a particular ideologies and party associated with that ideologies.  

It's a shame for the press and it undermines your credibility.

My question and concern is that whether all this information and facts are known to you. As an Indian Citizen, I expect an appropriate response from you.  I trust that you will look into this and take proper action to maintain the sanctity of Journalism in your media.  I will be happy to provide further information, if required by you and this is for the welfare and benefit of the state of TamilNadu.
