The scoping opinion document for development of Cell A is now available to view online. The report highlights the likely significant effects on ecology in and around Havannah Nature Reserve, as follows: • loss of open farmland and subsequent loss of farmland bird habitat • loss of great crested newt habitat • increased risk of road traffic mortality for wildlife • increase in the number domestic pets in close proximity to the reserve and wildlife predation • increase of bird feeders in close proximity to Havannah Nature Reserve attracting grey squirrels • increased footfall, dog walking and general disturbance within the nature reserve • displacement of brown hare • severance of habitat for roe deer and bat species • impact on hedgehog and common toad Cumulatively the development will result in significant ecological impacts.
