Newcastle Great Park Consortium is in the second stage of public consultation on plans for 1,200 houses within metres of Havannah Nature Reserve.
As part of the consultation process the Consortium is asking people to complete an online survey. Comments received will be included in documents for the planning application, which is due to be submitted imminently.
Please fill out the survey expressing any concerns you may have about the impact of the proposed development on wildlife in and around Havannah.
The survey appears to be targeted towards Great Park residents and assumes you have visited the consultation events, however, if you persist with the questions you will find the ecology section where your comments will be most valuable.
We have met with the director of the Consortium twice to discuss the ecological impact of the plans.
Since the first round of consultation there has been no change to the proposed size of the buffer zone, which will remain at 30 metres.
You can complete the survey here http://www.newcastlegreatpark.com/public-engagement/
You will need to click on Cells A and B1 Consultation (Stage 2) and scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the survey.
Thank you for your support.
As you can see from the pictures, Havannah's red squirrels are busy enjoying autumn.
