Clear the charges against NYPD Officer Peter Liang!

Clear the charges against NYPD Officer Peter Liang!
The Issue
Peter Liang, a NYPD officer, has been sentenced to fifteen years in jail. However, his conviction is utterly unjust and racially biased.
On November 20, 2014, Liang and his partner, both rookie cops, were patrolling inside the Louis Heaton Pink Houses, a public housing complex in East New York. When Liang heard movement beyond a staircase, he called for the individual to stop, which did not happen. Nervous, Liang put his hand on his gun and accidentally set off the trigger. The bullet bounced off a cinder-block wall and hit twenty-eight-year-old Akai Gurley. Gurley was on the landing one floor below when Liang's bullet ricocheted off a wall in the poorly lit stairwell and ripped into his heart, killing him.
Officer Liang is simply a convenient scapegoat for past police violence. In the case of Eric Garner, a police officer brutally choked a man to death. Yet he was not indicted. Similarly, when Michael Brown was killed by an officer, the officer faced no chargers. However, Liang is facing charges for manslaughter because of a complete accident. The only difference is that the officers in the cases of Eric Garner and Michael Brown were white. This is a clear-cut case of racial prejudice, and nothing else.
Join me and others in fighting the blatant injustice against Peter Liang, and non-whites in general.
