Keep the serial killer Brian Britton in prison

Keep the serial killer Brian Britton in prison
The Issue
RE: New York State V. Brian Britton (1989)
Picture above is Sherry's younger brother, Jason. He was 8 and a half when his brother murdered him.
Brian Britton annihilated his family. He murdered his parents and his baby brother before his brother finished his tenth year of life. Brian shot his sister three times. She survived to miss her parents and her baby brother for the last 25 years and will continue to miss them until the end of her natural life. She survived to wonder what Jason Britton might have grown up to be but she also survived to raise a family of her own. That family deserves safety.
After surviving three bullets from her own brother, Sherry Britton deserves to live the rest of her natural life with her assailant brother safely behind bars. Sherry and her children might be in grave danger if Brian Britton is released from prison. Let us be honest with ourselves. Serial killers kill.
Furthermore, the community of people that support Sherry’s safety are in danger of revenge from a man that killed three people and attempted to kill another person by the time that he was barely eligible to be tried as an adult.
Everybody lost something the day that Brian Britton murdered his family and now he is up for Parole. There is no justifiable reason to parole a serial killer. No community deserves to have a serial killer dumped on them.
Mr. Britton was sentenced to 25 years to life for each of the three murders that he completed and 8 1/3 to 25 years for attempted murder. There is not justification for giving a sentencing break for attempting murder but what is important is the fact that you have multiple counts of murder. “To life” can be underlined three times; once for every life that Brian Britton needlessly snuffed out.
There is plenty of good reason to keep this killer in prison. You have precedent, you have jurisdiction, and you have countless pleadings from concerned community members. Please allow me to give the Parole board the following points for consideration.
1. The United States Army had a shot at putting Jeffrey Dahmer in prison for violent crimes against his fellow soldiers and they failed.
2. Ted Bundy was on the police radar long before he was finally charged for serial crimes
3- Do you know for certain he would not come after his sister. His first attempt at killing her failed. Will he be angry enough to kill others?
4- Has there been any psychiatric help offered? Counseling or rehabilitation?
5- Can you guarantee all of us that he will not snap again. Is our community safe? Is there a plan in place for the victims if he was released
The Criminal Justice System has failed for a number of reasons that are beyond the scope of this letter. The people that are signing this letter are giving the New York State parole board a chance to keep the community safe and keep a serial killer in prison. Please take this opportunity and keep Brian Britton in prison.
