The Town of ODESSA NY has NO PUBLIC SEWER or WASTEWATER system.

Each Homeowner / Business Owner has a private septic system. For those near the creek in town, as WE ARE, here at the ODESSA COFFEE DEPOT,  there is not enough room to make a new septic system.  NO SEPTIC SYSTEM, NO COFFEE SHOP.  The Town of ODESSA is in a  small growth spurt, with a new liquor store, a hair salon, and a re-opened pub where the Odessa House once was, a bank, a post office,  a few insurance firms, etc.  WE NEED A COFFEE SHOP / Art Gallery to add some other type of cultural enrichment to the area, AND to help grow a local economy.

We are on a MAIN ROAD that leads to WATKINS GLEN, NY. We have been renovating an otherwise ANCIENT BUILDING that would have been yet another EYESORE on  the Main Street of Odessa, unless WE took over and started renovating it over 8  years ago.

We are seeking A VARIANCE to OPEN OUR ESTABLISHMENT with an ALTERNATIVE SEPTIC SYSTEM to handle the small amount of wastewater that we will generate.  We need to catch the ears of the code enforcement to show them that this is NOT a highly pollutive business. THERE ARE MANY OTHER LOCAL INDUSTRIES who are in fact ACTUAL POLLUTERS, spewing out  thousands of gallons of raw, untreated waste and other unknown liquids on to the land each day.  Why should a COFFEE SHOP OWNER be penalized for their minimal waste water, when the Larger polluters go unchecked?

We would like to have a place to meet, to hang out, to see some friends, get some coffee, and some WIFI and do what every other normal city does: SHARE CULTURE through COFFEE SHOPS and CAFES.  THANK YOU.
