Close Seneca Meadows Landfill

Close Seneca Meadows Landfill
The Issue
Waste Connections, Inc. is permitted to operate Seneca Meadows Landfill until October 10, 2017 and is seeking a 10 year permit renewal to continue existing operations.
This petition is a request to the Seneca Falls Town Board to reject the permit request, enact a local law that will close the Seneca Meadows Landfill and prevent any future expansion.
The Canadian and Texas-owned corporation profiting from this landfill accepts toxic waste, fracking waste and solid waste from Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York City.
If the 10 year landfill permit is approved, 21.9 million tons of municipal solid waste will be allowed to be dumped at Seneca Meadows Landfill.
Seneca Meadows will continue to poison surrounding communities, air, drinking water supplies, nearby Finger Lakes and Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge.
The Town Board of Seneca Falls has the power and authority to close the largest active landfill in New York State.
The Finger Lakes Region is an awesome place for kids to grow up - please, keep it that way.
