Stop the Grand Island Bridge tolls in NY

Stop the Grand Island Bridge tolls in NY
The Issue
Situated between Buffalo, NY and Niagara Falls is a beautiful island home to 21,000 people.
Grand Island is an island in the Niagara River, and the only way to enter and exit the island are two bridges along Interstate 190. For years, Western NYers like myself and thousands of others have had to pay a toll to enter and leave the island. Thousands of people cross the toll bridges every day as they are the only roadways onto and off the island.
Grand Island is a major business center and thousands of people travel to Grand Island from the surrounding areas for their jobs, and thousands of people who live on Grand Island travel south to Buffalo and North to Niagara Falls for their jobs as well.
The toll is $1.00 each way, and while it sounds minuscule, thousands of people may have to pay over $60 in toll fees every month, just to go to work, and I believe that is wrong. The tolls are basically a punishment for those who live on the Island, and for those who travel to work on the island. Interstate 190 and the Grand Island bridges also serve as a major highway artery to Niagara Falls, and no tolls on these bridges could also allow for more tourism opportunity.
Therefore, I believe that there should be no tolls on the Grand Island bridges.
