Give Mark Cooper 97A5185 his parole hearing at Greenhaven Correctional Facility

The Issue

Mark Cooper has served 18 yrs on a 20 yr sentence in the New York Department of Corrections with continued postponements of his parole hearing, even though family and friends have consistently called, written letters and spoke with Ms Baker from the Parole Board whom stated he would be seen on "Wednesday October 22, 2014".  As of the date of this writing Mark Cooper has not been in front of the parole board.  Family and friends have written about Mark Coopers health and safety at Greenhaven Correctional Facility due to the fact he was beaten and abused by Correctional Officers.  Mark Coopers wife started investigations into his abuse in 2012 contacting all departments listed in this petition.  Sadly, Mark Coopers wife (Tiffany Cooper) passed away March 31, 2014, leaving behind a 2 yr old daughter and her husband still incarcerated for a driving infraction while out on parole in 2012.  Mark Coopers sentence began when he was only 16 yrs old, sentenced as an adult and the alleged victim was 23 yrs old, he was given a sentence of 10 to 20 yrs of which he has served 18yrs.  Mark has a home waiting for him, employment offers and, most important a 2 yr old daughter longing for her daddy to come home to be a part of her life.  We are just seeking he be given the opportunity to come home, bereave the loss of his wife, re-acclimate life with his 2 yr old daughter, becoming a responsible father and member of society. When Mark Cooper was violated for a driving infraction he was working 3 jobs, supporting his now deceased wife and daughter, doing very well at becoming a productive member of society after paying his debt to society with so many years of confinement and abuse.  When the punishment for a crime becomes a crime where/who do we turn too?  We only have concern for his safe return to his family and 2 yr old daughter.  Please won't you join this petition to aide Mark in his plight?
