Federal prosecutors have seized the records of rentboy.com, including client information as part of its shut down and criminal prosecution of the site.

The potential for this information to ruin the lives of gay men if their identities and activities become known is too high. Not only will Federal authorities get this information, but there is potential for it to leak into the public.

We call on the US attorneys to immediately STOP searching through these records of gay client identities and also to DESTROY all records in their possession.

Further, there is no allegation of trafficking, underage sex or other criminal activity. Rentboy is a big part of the gay community, enabling closeted and isolated gay men a place to explore their sexuality.

This prosecution of the operators of rentboy.com is purely for consensual sex between men. Many of the rent boys need this space to earn money in a safe environment. 

We call on the US attorneys to drop all charges related to rentboy.com and restore the site so that sex workers have a safe place to practice their trade.
