The New Smyrna Beach Skatepark is a community park that only allows skateboards. With the ever growing need for more outdoor community parks supporting bikes, we believe the community would highly benefit from the City allowing biker riders on the park as well. With Volusia County and other cities all over the country allowing both skateboards and bikes, at the same time, in the parks these places have shown to be great for kids and adults of all ages. Being that both skateboards/ bikes use the same ramps and are now in the olympics it would open up more opportunities for a healthy local community. This is currently the only skatepark in volusia county that doesn’t allow bikes in. There are thousands of Floridians that ride bikes and would highly benefit being able to be welcomed. Local families could have a healthy place to ride bikes and enjoy the park. Please consider opening up the New Smyrna beach skatepark to all local bike riders as well.
