Proposed Off-Leash Dog Area in Pacific Beach

Proposed Off-Leash Dog Area in Pacific Beach
The Issue
Dog owners in Pacific Beach are frustrated with the lack of adequate off-leash dog parks in the area. After hearing these concerns at our January 16 PB Town Council forum, I began taking pictures of feasible options in Pacific Beach, eventually honing in on a grassy field on the northeastern edge of Crown Point Park. With ample parking in the adjacent lot and public restrooms nearby, it seems like an ideal place for an off-leash fenced dog park. This site would be a huge asset for dog owners and their pups all across Pacific Beach and surrounding areas.
The Pacific Beach Town Council Board of Directors voted to pursue this site in Crown Point Park as a potential designated off-leash dog area.
Dogs need a place where they can run around and be free. It's necessary for their health and well-being. Pacific Beach needs more adequate places for this overwhelming need.
By signing this petition, you are helping to show public support for a proposed off-leash fenced dog area at this site in Crown Point Park.
Reasons for off-leash area at this site:
- Large grassy area next to Mission Bay.
- Fencing could be installed around perimeter.
- Ample parking available in adjacent lot.
- Public restrooms nearby.
- ADA compliance feasible due to flat topography.
- Exercise and socializing good for health and well-being of dogs.
- Dog parks are also social for humans.
- Pacific Beach Town Council Board of Directors voted to pursue this site as a potential off-leash designation.
Thank you for showing support for an off-leash dog park at this site in Crown Point Park. You don't have to provide personal info other than your name and email when signing this petition. Thanks.
