The New Orleans Zephyrs (New Orleans' Triple-A minor league baseball team) have held a contest to change the Zephyrs name in 2017 to one of the following options: 

New Orleans Baby Cakes, New Orleans Crawfish, New Orleans King Cakes, New Orleans Night Owls, New Orleans Po'boys, New Orleans Red Eyes, New Orleans Tailgators.

We believe that none of these options represent an improvement over the current team name and wish for the name Zephyrs to remain the name of our team. 

If the club demands the team name must be changed, we ask that the current options be discarded and new options which better represent the greater New Orleans area and its people be chosen. 

The "name the team" contest had over 2,000 submissions. If we can get this petition signed by as many people as possible, perhaps the team will listen to us.
