New Orleans is known for music, it's the birthplace of jazz, home to Jazz Fest and Voodoo Fest not to mention the countless other music festivals held here annually, without music New Orleans wouldn't be New Orleans. Despite the importance of music to the city and the people who live here there are some who are trying to kill the music. Street musicians and local music venues are being unfairly targeted and some have already been forced to close. I understand people's complaints about unreasonable music level and I agree the level of music/sound should most definitely be regulated but the manner in which it is being dealt with is simply not right. If you don't like music don't move to New Orleans. If you don't want to hear music from down the way while at home don't move into a home next to a music venue. A few angry people with deep pockets are trying rob the city of something that is important to the culture, the locals, the economy, the tourists who visit and the beautiful culture and way of life that makes New Orleans unique. Please don't let the music in New Orleans die.
