I am a New Mexican citizen who sees how criminals are getting away with their crimes. Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham is ensuring that these criminals don't get the proper punishment they deserve. In the last 5 months there have been 2 shootings at Coronado mall. Some people are even scared to go to the mall now in fear of losing their life. Not only is it gun violence but cars and homes are being broken into and homicide rates are rapidly increasing. 

With all of this happening its is essential for criminals to get a punishment they deserve. From 2008 to 2022, homicides in Albuquerque have tripled. If things stay the same, New Mexico is not going to be a good place to live. Businesses will close, and our economy will take a turn for the worst. 

We must act soon as so many lives and our state's health is at risk. Increasing punishment for deserving criminals will show that New Mexico does not tolerate such crimes.
