The Tilbury Education & Cultural Association (Tilbury Mosque) has been an essential part of our community in Tilbury, for 7 years. However, there is a growing concern among community members regarding the need for increased transparency and attentiveness to user needs. We believe that this is critical to foster stronger relationships between the Trustee and the people it serves. Despite its significance in our community, there is a lack of openness about its operations, finances and decisions. Further, users' needs and feedback appear to not be being addressed. 

Trustees of the organisation should have relevant knowledge, communication skills and experiences to enable them to steer the organisation forward and meet the needs of its users. If the organisation has an official Management Committee, we demand to see documentations of appointment for those in order for them to be present at meeting with the community. 

Bringing change to our mosque is not solely about enhancing transparency but is fundamentally about fortifying and strengthening our community. The mosque is more than just a religious institution - it is a symbol of unity and social cohesion.

We call for a new team of trustees / management committee to be recruited to strengthen the governance, accountability of the organisation and further progress to meet its users needs.
