Jake, our ten year-old, became really sad upon learning of this issue, and I realized we have become desensitized to this harsh reality. Dogs and cats shouldn't be killed when other options are available. Adopting a pet can be expensive. If adoption fees were waived for animals in line to be euthanized, there's a much higher likelihood that they would be adopted. Animals have feelings too, and they give us companionship and unconditional love. Let's adopt, not kill!
