On behalf of the student population at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, this petition will serve as a formal complaint to the staff in charge of the dining hall service. The following lines of this description will outline the main issues with the current system.

Simply put, the lines of people who’s food is supposedly ready are absolutely absurd. If the order is ready, why should students be submitted to intensely long waiting periods? We as students can no longer be expected to wait 1.5 hours in line simply waiting for a meal.

On top of that, there are coronavirus safety concerns for everybody waiting in line for extended periods of time, especially so soon after the start of the semester.

Furthermore, for students who can not wait in this line for any various reason, the only remaining option is to buy food with money from their own pocket. To put it frankly, forcing undergraduates to spend 2000$+ on a meal plan and still forcing them to pay out of pocket just to eat is an egregious offense.

For these reasons, and more, please sign this petition to get the attention of those in charge of NJIT’s dining hall management. The hope is that they will see how many people are signing this petition and do something about this matter.
