It has become clear that KFC has submitted plans and drawings to take over the old NatWest site in New Milton.  There are a few concerns about this.

There is already huge amounts of litter dropped around the skate park, children’s play area and the surrounding areas which comes from the local shops and subway. Imagine adding KFC wrappers, cups, boxes and bags to that.

We all know the youngsters like to gather in groups and meet with their friends but it seems a silly idea to place a KFC at the traffic lights, the busiest part of town, and expect the youngsters to not gather there. We all know that a silly few can ruin it for the rest and it only takes one to mess around too close to the road. Add into the mix children leaving at school time gathering there and the busy roads through town and it’s a recipe for disaster.

This is not to mention how abhorrently cruel KFC is. I thought we lived in a much more compassionate town. 

Do these proposals promote healthy lifestyle and eating habits?  Is this the future community vision you had for your town?
