New Era Fire Dana Brown!
The Issue
To: Jim Crane and the Houston Astros Executive Board From: The Astros Fan Nation!
For nearly a decade, the Houston Astros were the gold standard of Major League Baseball. We were defined by a "win-at-all-costs" mentality, a deep farm system, and a front office that outsmarted the rest of the league.
Today, that legacy is being dismantled.
As of May 2026, the Houston Astros sit in the cellar of the AL West. While injuries are a part of the game, the lack of depth and the questionable decision-making under General Manager Dana Brown have left this franchise directionless.
Why we are calling for the immediate removal of Dana Brown:
Failure to Spend Effectively: Despite a payroll of $228 million, this team has glaring holes that went unaddressed this past winter. While other contenders aggressively filled gaps, the front office relied on "bargain" depth and insurance moves that have failed to stabilize a pitching staff currently sitting in the bottom of the league.
The Depletion of the Future:
Under Brown’s tenure, the Astros' farm system has plummeted to the bottom of the league rankings. We are currently one of the only teams with zero Top-100 prospects. The "pipeline" that sustained our dynasty has run dry.
Questionable Trades & Roster Management: From letting key veterans walk to making head-scratching trades that have failed to yield results, the roster construction lacks the strategic brilliance that defined previous regimes. The "Chase the fight" our team needs isn't happening on the field—it needs to happen in the front office.
A Culture of Mediocrity:
We are tired of hearing that "the process takes time" while watching the team take massive steps backward. The Houston fan base expects championships, not excuses about "free passes" and "banged-up rosters."
The Demand:
We, the undersigned members of the Astros Fan Nation, call on Jim Crane to act now. We demand a General Manager who will aggressively pursue talent, protect our future, and return this team to its rightful place at the top of the American League.
Dana Brown is not the architect of our future. It’s time for a change.
